Wind Damage Roof Repair for Phoenix Homes
Monsoon gusts find every weak point — we find them first
A single monsoon cell can push 60 to 70 mph gusts across a Valley neighborhood in minutes. Tile slides, ridge caps lift, shingle tabs break their seal, and flashing works loose at the exact junctions that were already carrying the most water. The damage is rarely dramatic from the street — which is why so much of it goes unrepaired until the first real rain finds it.
The damage is at the edges, not the middle
Wind does not lift a roof by pressing on the broad field of it. It catches edges — rakes, ridges, hips, eaves and any tile or shingle whose seal has already aged — and peels from there. That is why a roof can look untouched from the driveway while its most vulnerable details have been compromised.
Displaced and Slipped Tile
Concrete tile does not have to break to fail. A tile pushed out of course exposes the underlayment beneath it to direct sun, and Arizona sun turns exposed felt brittle within a season.
Broken Shingle Seals
Asphalt shingles bond to the course below with a heat-activated strip. Once wind breaks that bond the tab still looks flat but no longer resists the next storm, and wind-driven rain gets underneath it.
Lifted Flashing and Ridge Caps
Flashing at walls, chimneys and skylights is fastened and sealed rather than woven in. Wind works at those fasteners, and a ridge cap that has lifted even slightly is an open seam along the highest line of the roof.
Debris Impact and Blocked Drainage
Storms bring branches down onto tile and pack valleys and scuppers with grit. A cracked tile above a valley concentrates water exactly where the roof least wants it, and a blocked scupper turns the next rain into standing water.
Inspect, document, then repair
Order matters here. Insurers ask what was damaged, when, and by what — and a repair completed before anyone photographed the damage is a repair you may end up paying for yourself.
1. Same-week inspection
We walk the roof, lift tile where it is warranted, and check every edge, valley, penetration and flashing detail — not just the area you noticed.
2. Photographed findings
You receive images of what we found and a written assessment in plain language, including the parts of the roof that are sound. That record is what an insurance claim rests on.
3. Temporary protection if needed
If the roof is open to weather we secure it before we leave. A dry-in that costs little now prevents interior damage that costs a great deal later.
4. Permanent repair
Tile reset and refastened, underlayment replaced where it has been exposed, shingles and ridge caps replaced, flashing re-secured and sealed. Matching existing material is part of the job, not an extra.
What we will tell you
- Whether the damage is genuinely storm-related or ordinary age — those are different conversations with an insurer.
- Whether a repair is enough, or whether the underlayment beneath your tile has reached the end of its life anyway.
- What we found that is not damaged, so you are not paying to fix a roof that is fine.
- What it costs, in writing, before any work begins.
If your roof needs nothing, that is what the report will say. Storm season brings out crews who find damage on every roof they inspect; we would rather keep a customer for twenty years.
Where wind damage repair fits
Storm damage rarely arrives on its own. These are the services homeowners most often need alongside it.
- Residential roof repair — leaks, cracked tile and worn flashing outside of storm season.
- Tile roof repair — when displaced tile has exposed the underlayment underneath.
- Residential roof replacement — when repeated storm repairs are no longer the economical answer.
- Monsoon roof prep — the inspection that prevents most of this before the season starts.
- Gutter installation and cleaning — because blocked drainage turns wind damage into water damage.
- Commercial wind damage repair — for business and investment property.
